YES! YOUth emPOWERed after morning workshops!

YES! Kick-Off Conference was ridiculously awesome.  Check out BLOG to read more about it.  Browse through our FACEBOOK page to look at many (many!) pictures of happy, smiling, emPOWERed faces.  Tweet with us as we go through the hundreds of ideas we collected from over 300 youth on what they want to do to create safe schools.  The youth have spoken, and now it’s our responsibility to take these ideas and turn them into a curriculum that can be replicated in schools nationwide.  YES! is not just a word y’all!  It’s a MOVEMENT!

– YES! Team

NCCJ’s YES! Campaign is a national movement of youth leading the change to make schools safe and inclusive for all students.  The YES! campaign honors the ideas, abilities, and passions of young people who want to create or support high school communities in which everyone is welcome and celebrated for who they are.  YES! hosted a daylong kickoff conference for MA, CT, and RI high school students on October 23, 2011 at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.  Integrating social media, technology, and the arts, this conference launched the YES! campaign to promote youth voices, strategies, and solutions nationwide.
